Update for Steven

Dear Team Steven,

Our wonderful big boy, Steven, has been in good health and excellent spirits this month.  Much to our surprise, his relationship with Gator continues to go well.  The fellas seem to have reached détente with each other.  We’re not certain if Steven waved a white flag and demanded a truce, but things seem to be going smooth as silk for now.

Unfortunately, Gator now seems to have focused his sights on Betty. We’re not certain about the nature of their relationship quite yet. Inquiring minds want to know: Is this the feisty beginning of a budding romance or a potential long-term love/hate relationship? Of course, any All-American male cat like Gator would find Betty quite an item.  Ageless and exuberant, Betty is a force majeure—a femme fatale and cougar to Gator’s cantaloupe Casanova. Will they become fast friends?  Is there a chance that this thing could grow into something more?  Or is this just two cats destined to dance around each other forever? Frankly, we just don’t know yet.

As for Steven, he really doesn’t care.  A connoisseur of comfort, Steven is just happy to be free of Gator’s misguided intentions.  For him, Gator was literally a pain in the butt—a crazy competitor for blanket space, errant treats, and mini morsels left behind by staff, volunteers, or even other cats. At fifteen years old Steven may be in great shape, but he knows he’s no spring chicken. He simply would rather not vie with Gator for … well, anything!

Steven is far more interested in and excited about Elijah’s recent adoption. Yes, at last, Elijah’s day has come! Steven’s long-time suitemate has found a loving home after residing for nearly a decade and a half at Tabby’s Place. All Elijah has ever really wanted is to be pampered and adored for all his great big lusciousness. At last, after soooo much waiting … waiting … waiting, an adopter called his name, and Elijah is jubilant! Oh, happy, happy day!

While just a tiny bit tearful about bidding Elijah farewell, Steven is exuberantly joyful for his hugely happy friend. Never was a boon companion so deserving! Our big orange boy led all the “huzzahs and hurrahs” as we launched Elijah on his victory lap—his final stroller ride at Tabby’s Place. Steven knows you just can’t be sad when your best friend, at last, has found a home to call their own. Here’s Elijah’s victory lap video.

Your continuing support as Steven’s sponsor means so much to all of us. You give Steven a place to “hang his hat” until he, too, finds his forever home. We thank you for your generosity!
