Update for Steven

Dear Team Steven,

Happy Halloween, everyone!

Much to the delight of our feline friends, the leaves have begun to change color and swirl in the wind like little whirlybirds. Catching rays of fall sunshine in the solariums, the cats are enjoying all the sights, sounds and smells of the changing seasons. Migrating birds winging their way southward are of particular interest and, occasionally, even a topic for discussion!

Our stroller riders seem to appreciate both the drop in temperature and the many other changes going on in the world around them. And, of course, cats and people always seem to come together even better when it’s “blanket or sweater weather.”

Steven is in excellent health and great spirits. The Grand Opening of Quinn’s Corner was certainly thrilling for him, but celebrating Tabby’s Place’s twentieth anniversary this month is even more magical! As a long time resident, Steven has experienced so much growth and change with us. And, while some cats — and people, for that matter — don’t handle change well, Steven takes everything in stride.

Perhaps, Steven’s exuberance this month has something to do with the two new lady cats who have moved into his suite. Serendipity, a beautiful Siamese (pictured at right), is a vocal lass and Hazey,  an “orange collar cat,” can be quite feisty. Steven is keeping a watchful eye as they integrate into their new digs. He seems quite willing to share his accommodations. After all, he’s always had a soft spot for pretty girls — feline or otherwise.

Steven definitely knows how to quietly work his way into all our hearts. Being the calm, cool and collected cat he is certainly doesn’t hurt. Yes, sir. Yes, ma’am. This is one fella who knows from experience just how to strut his stuff (in a dignified, gentlemanly manner, of course).

When it comes to being reliable and steadfast, Steven is solid as a rock. Oh, sure, we allow for the occasional smidge of curmudgeonly behavior now and then — Steven is, after all, no spring chicken. But a couple of new lady friends in Steven’s life seems to be doing him good … and he’s certainly not complaining!

In fact, Steven’s quite taken with the idea of auditioning for the part of Tabby’s Place’s very own “Golden Bachelor.”

For our part, we think no others need apply.

Thank you for your steadfast generosity to Steven!

Your correspondent,
Tina
