Update for Regina

Dear Team Regina,

Last month when I wrote to you, I was more than a little consternated about calling Regina’s fashionable custom couture a “drag bag.” Frankly, such a chic dresser deserves a much better moniker for her fashion forward attire.

Someone amongst you (and I don’t know who) came up with a much better description, and voila! The “scoot skirt” was born!  It’s pure genius, don’t you think?

Whoever you are, wherever you are:  I tip my chapeau to you. Please stop by Tabby’s Place to claim your gourmet prize: A can of cat food or a cup of coffee, it’s up to you, with our thanks and compliments.

Regina now has a new scooter specially designed to attach to her scoot skirts. This tricked-out fashion accessory allows her to move very fast and pivot quickly! She and all the other cats she plays with are still getting used to it, but we expect she will adapt to it and be able to join in on much more feline fun.  We’re nearly certain Regina will soon zoom past everyone with this remarkable gadget and find her way to Paris for both the runway and the Olympics. When it comes to this little girl, you can never keep a good cat down! And she’s so fashionable, too!

Nonetheless, there are a few occasions when Regina definitely does not sport a good look.  Our little pussycat princess has been getting more “bitey” and upset when she is expressed. The medical team evaluated her and determined that this is a behavioral thing rather than due to any actual physical discomfort. We are reminding all the volunteers to be careful not to let Regina (or any cat) nibble on their hands, as this reinforces bad behavior. In the words of our Director of Operations, Danielle Rice, “We are trying to raise good citizens.” After all, you can’t win on the runway or at the Olympics on style points alone!

With Regina, our new motivational mantra is, “You’ve got to be good AND look good.”  We’re pretty certain that, with a little elite-level coaching, she will overcome this behavioral issue and truly be the delightful little diva she is. In her heart of hearts, she knows you can’t take a nip out of the paparazzi or a panel of judges just because you feel a little cross.  It simply isn’t done in feline circles, and we will not be taking any pages out of human celebrity’s books.

In the meantime, our tres jolie petite chat is practicing her French and preparing for more time in the Parisian spotlight. She does an outstanding French mieux-mieux that will simply break your heart!   C’est tres belle!

Your correspondent,
Tina
