Update for Olive

Greetings, My Fabulous Friend and Sponsor!

It is me again, the gorgeous Olive, with my latest update. Elizabeth is here with me, and boy do we have a great time chatting and laughing together! It has been a busy time at Tabby’s Place, so here goes with the latest and greatest news to share.

First and foremost, I have remained in good health and spirits this month. My personal staff has been keeping an even closer eye on me, because I have been picking at my chest fur quite a bit more. We have had several heart-to-heart chats about it, and we are working together for me to get past this. They told me they are slipping a little something special in my food bowl to make me even more beautiful and happier than usual. Seriously now, do they really think that is even possible???

That aside, the best part is this: we agreed I can spend my days going au naturel. While I realize my little diaper skirts are the utmost in fashion, this newfound feeling is just so very freeing! I am pretty sure I overheard the medical staff say they are going to revisit this in a few weeks and see if I am being a good girl. As if I am anything other than a stunning little angel???

Just being ME!

October was just a ton of fun! I, the wonderful and lovable Olive, actually took a day off (much deserved and with pay of course!). On National Grouch Day, I spent the day just being me—no hesitations, no considerations, no reservations. In no uncertain terms, I was my true and genuine self, and no one was allowed to say a single word about it. I do admit, it was a really fabulous day spent just being ME! I returned to my regular lobby greeting duties the very next day because, well, no one around here rules the lobby as well as I do!

Next up, we celebrated Halloween. Let me tell you about the fun we had! There were plenty of shenanigans and tricks, and from what I heard, lots of treats for everyone but in NOT the lobby. Some of the other felines around here wore costumes—everything from pumpkins to Martians and lions—you name it, there was one. I gotta tell you, they cracked me up because they really looked very silly!

Starring as Thomasina!

I, however, being an elegant lady, dressed in my best black and white formal wear and spent my day starring on television as “Thomasina.” My little buddy “Geraldina” (hiding behind me because she was a little too shy and anxious due to all the other felines around here) and I are going to make it big and become even more famous than “Tom and Jerry.” We may need to hire a professional agent, so if you happen to have any referrals in that field, do send them our way! I just know this is my big break leading to stardom, so watch for us on the red carpet when I receive my first Emmy!

On the heels of Halloween was Election Day! This was our day to have our voices heard and make our feelings known! Our dearest staff friend, the wonderful Angela, has the entire scoop on Election Day, so please pop over to our blog for the witty details.

Most important on the ballot, for me and my lobby friends anyway, was the vote on the “No Treats, No Justice Act of 2024.” That manufacturer treat shortage we talked about last month, well we know for a FACT it is NOT true! We all banded together and voted for what is right.

But here is the thing…. either there were some unintentional puffy paw errors during voting, or there were some ballot counting errors made, but the vote did not pass. How is that even possible???

Now some of my less rotund friends (or are they perhaps actually foes?) are saying the threat of sending the meanie weenies to the dungeon without their treats was perhaps a little unfair of us. But I must adamantly disagree with that. What is good for us is good for them too!

So, just wondering:  do you have any plans on November 23rd? As you can tell, we love every chance to celebrate around here, and our next opportunity is “Thanksgiving with the Cats” on Saturday the 23rd, from 12-4pm. I hear there will be a feast of food for everyone (oh yum, I do need my treats!!!), and a whole plethora of kitty cuddling.

All of us furry felines are blessed and thankful. I open my heart and share that I truly have so much to be thankful for: for you, my gracious and generous sponsor, for Tabby’s Place, who gave me a home, tender care, and love that I so desperately need, for the staff (a/k/a my very special servants) for being here for me every single day, as well as for all my volunteers and friends. Each and every single one of you is amazing and appreciated.

Please consider joining us—you can be sure I will be at the door greeting everyone, and I will even be extra nice because I am so thankful! Hope to see you on the 23rd!

So, until next month – lots of love,
Olive
