Update for Olive

Update for Olive

Salutations, Olive Lovers!

It’s time for another update on our little lobby greeter. Olive has enjoyed a month of good health, and may there be many more to come!

Most cats are food motivated, but Olive brings that to something of an art form. You know that we have a near-constant battle to keep her weight in check, as she excels at stealing food (especially food she isn’t supposed to have). The staff has noted that Olive gets very excited when the bowls of kibble are put down in the lobby every evening. That’s not a surprise to anyone, but we have to be sure the bowls are not filled too full, as our feisty girl has developed a tendency to scarf down much of what’s in the bowls.

Work continues on Tabby’s Place’s expansion, Quinn’s Corner, even during the oppressive heat and humidity we’ve been experiencing recently. During the last two weeks of July, it was time for some landscaping. In the words of one staffer, “Olive was plastered to the front door glass,” watching the many new plants going in. She seemed unable to tear herself away from all of the fascinating activity happening just a few feet from her.

Taking a break from watching the outdoor activity

You’d think she’d have gotten tired or bored with everything going on outside; most of the other cats don’t take any notice at all. But not our girl, who’s remained just as curious now as she was when this all began. We have to wonder if Olive thinks all of the comings and goings outside were planned for her benefit!

Olive is a challenge, but we love our girl and wouldn’t have her any other way. Thank you for helping us take good care of her.
