Happy 2022, Olive Fans!

I’m pleased to be able to tell you that Olive has entered the new year with no new health issues. Even with her existing health situations, though, our little lobby greeter has maintained her determination to leave nothing uninvestigated once it enters our front doors. People, new cats, and inanimate objects are all met with plenty of sniffing. Of course, all cats have a reputation for curiosity, but I believe Olive is one of the most inquisitive felines I’ve met. Everything is grist for that little mill of a nose.

There have been two major changes in Olive’s life over the past month, both in the form of new cats in the lobby. Marley is a large marbled tabby girl, very sweet but rather anxious. Bjork is a slight, all-black senior female with one stump leg, eager to explore. As you’d imagine, Olive has been quite serious about making sure both arrivals understand that she is the one in charge! Fortunately for the staff, neither Marley nor Bjork seems likely to challenge Olive’s assumed authority.

We know that Olive will continue to challenge us this year, at least medically and possibly in other realms, too. But our lobby wouldn’t be the same without this feisty young lady.

Thanks to your continuing generosity, we’ll be able to care for and love Olive for a long time to come. Have a happy and healthy New Year!
