Update for Olive

December greetings to you and to all my friends!

Yes, it’s me, and I’ve had a good month! I hope you have too. Now we’re in between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I want to say I thank you for your generous donations throughout the year that help me live a life that is so very good. And looking ahead, if you’re still searching for the right gift for someone special in your life, might I suggest something from this catalog?

Now, can you keep a secret? Just between the two of us, I’ve found a terrific new spot at Tabby’s Place. There’s a big desk in the lobby where I live, and usually there are humans behind it. But come to find out, there are also cats behind it, and — this is the key — there’s food for those cats behind it too. It’s good yummy kibble, and I’ve been helping myself when the mood strikes. So that’ll be our secret, right? (Oh, don’t worry about my “typist” spilling the beans. I rubbed up against him when he came in, and he fell for it, calling me his “widdle baby durl”. So he’s not saying anything to anyone.)

Oh, if you are on Facebook, take a look at this. It says, “Our local Girl Scout troop dropped off these homemade cubbies for the cats. Olive wasted no time inspecting their work and getting comfortable!” I like them! Thanks to the Girl Scouts for giving me someplace new and fun to explore.

So like I said, life is good! But I’ll tell you about one thing that really bugged me recently. I was minding my business and posing for a picture by my typist, when who comes sneaking up behind me but good old Walter. I love the guy, but when he spooked me, I couldn’t help myself, I whirled around and hissed and whapped him!

My staff here immediately pulled out my favorite catnip rainbow and gave it to me, so I got over it pretty quickly. See how well they treat me? (You’ll notice I’m generously overlooking those few moments when they are expressing my bladder.) Of course, they are well versed in when I (or any other cat) would prefer that you just go away and stop bugging me.

My thanks again to you, and wishing you all good things in this holiday season,
Li’l Salty Olive
