Update for Olive

Update for Olive

Greetings!

Spring is in full bloom, Olive aficionados! Time for another update on our little spitfire.

Over the past few weeks, it seemed as though Olive’s mouth was somewhat uncomfortable when she was being medicated. We wondered if there might be a dental issue. By now, you are all aware of Olive’s dislike of being handled, so we sedated her for the dental exam, which she passed with flying colors. Our veterinary team saw nothing amiss in her mouth, thankfully. She also got her annual medical exam over the past few weeks, and we’re happy to report that she is in good health.

Spend any time around cat people, and you’ll quickly learn that some prefer their felines “all sugar and spice,” as the saying goes, while others tend to go for cats with more—um—complex personalities (yeah, we’ll go with “complex”). Obviously, our feisty little girl falls into the latter category.

But it appears as though Tabby’s Place’s newest staff member has quite a liking for feisty felines, and she’s fallen under Olive’s spell. This staffer is working one-on-one with Olive to get her more comfortable with being handled (without the need for sedation or towel wraps) and has expressed a hope that she might one day be able to adopt our lobby greeter! Having Olive find her forever home would be a dream come true.

We’ll have to wait and see how that dream progresses.  For the moment, we’ll continue to enjoy Olive’s presence in our lobby. As always, thank you for your help in caring for this special girl.
