Greetings, Olive lovers!
Spring is here in earnest, and the nicer weather means a lot of visitors at Tabby’s Place. Olive makes it her business to try to be the first to check out everyone who enters our Lobby, of course, often beating our human greeters in saying hello. We had a volunteer orientation a couple of weeks back, and at one point our Lobby was so crowded that Olive didn’t know where to turn first!
We now have another big personality in the lobby. Bengal mix Cheela is a very loud boy who is not shy about demanding human attention—or anything else, really. Cheela is just reaching the point where he’s being allowed out of his “introduction” crate for more and more time. He’s already demonstrated that he’s not afraid of other felines; on his first stroll around the lobby, he made it a point to hiss vigorously at fellow lobby-dweller Anka.
As is the case with any big new personality on Olive’s home turf, we are a little concerned about how she and Cheela might react to one another. So far, there have not been any issues, but then the only time Olive has encountered Cheela was when he was in his crate. Needless to say, we’ll be keeping a very close eye on these two.
There is no medical news for Olive this month, something we’re always happy to report. Personally, I still can’t figure out how she manages to get her own diaper off, something she does with surprising ease, but maybe I’d have to be a cat myself to truly understand how that’s done.
As always, thank you for helping us keep Olive healthy and in good spirits.
