Happy mid-Winter, Olive aficionados!
Ready for an update on our little lobby greeter? There is no medical news for Olive this month, and that’s just what we like! She has enjoyed a month of stable good health; long may it last.
This month’s Question For the Ages: Is Olive the most curious cat at Tabby’s Place? Felines are naturally inquisitive, of course, and we have quite a number who might qualify for that title on any given day… except when Olive is added to the mix.
She really “outshines” (if that’s the word) the other lobby cats (and most other cats period) in the minute, persistent scrutiny of anything that she comes across. Apparently, people don’t count as objects of major interest (although it might just be that humans are not of sufficient importance to merit the thorough examination given to non-sentient objects; it’s hard to tell). But, put something down on the floor of the lobby that’s new or not in its typical place, and Olive will be on the case immediately!
We have many visitors who come in with bags — tote bags, purses, bags of donations. In all innocence, these visitors often put their bags on the floor. If Olive is awake, it’s only a matter of seconds before the visitors discover their bags tipped over and being investigated by a certain black-and-white cat who shall remain nameless. Fortunately for Olive, it’s so cute to see her back end sticking out of any bag she examines that most visitors can only laugh at the sight.
We can’t say it enough: thank you for helping us look after Olive!
