Update for Olive

It’s almost summer, Olive aficionados. And with that good news comes similarly good news in the medical department for Olive; over the past month, she has been trouble-free. There has been an upper respiratory infection making the rounds among some of our cats. Olive, however, was not affected, a plus for us as well as for her (as you can guess, she’s not the easiest cat in the place to medicate).

The arrival of warmer weather always means that Tabby’s Place sees some six-legged wildlife in the lobby. It’s usually nothing too serious—the odd fly or a couple of ants, perhaps a few spiders. Maybe it’s because she’s one of the youngest cats in the lobby, but Olive invariably spots these “intruders” before any other feline can, and she’ll make a (pardon the pun) beeline for what she regards as a fun new toy. Flying insects can often get away from her; those that crawl aren’t always so fortunate. Luckily for us, she shows little interest in eating these “toys,” even when she’s caught them and they are no longer moving.

Tabby’s Place had a Volunteer Open House over the past month, and I’m told that Olive had a wonderful time at the event. So many new people to check out, and so much attention from admiring prospective helpers! Olive hardly knew where to turn first. I know she slept well that night; she must have been worn out!

As usual, my thanks to you for helping us keep Olive in style.
