Update for Lester

Dear friends,

The transition to summer is one of my favorite times here at Tabby’s Place. Most days you’ll find me basking in the sunshine with my good friends, watching the birds, bugs and butterflies flutter about.

My health has been stellar, and so has my behavior. I’ve matured into a mellow middle-aged cat, and my old brawling ways have yielded to cozy afternoon naps with any cat who wishes to join me. Unless, of course, they get between me and human affection, in which case I might hiss so that I don’t have to share my people. But I won’t throw any paw punches, I promise.

This month we bid adieu to Bucky and Stormie, two of our incredibly bashful cats who never warmed up to human affections. I hear they’ve been adopted into a great setting: a safe barn home with devoted owners who will take good care of them.

Rumor has it that we’ll be getting a new roommate soon — a sweet-natured, part-Siamese FIV+ girl from Louisiana. I bet she’s a real Southern lady. I’m trying to decide how best to impress her. Should I get my Brooklyn on and act all aloof and cool? Or should I demonstrate my new sensitive side by sharing my blanket with her and showing her around. Stay tuned…

Thanks for everything that you do for me. I hope that you’re staying cool in the heat and enjoying the long days of the season.

Your pal,
Lester
