Hi, friends.
It’s finally time to put this super-cold winter behind us and look forward to warm, sunny days. The birds are chirping, and you can smell spring in the air – the barely budding trees and the spring flowers lying just beneath the surface. There’s so much potential just waiting to spring forth.
It’s a time of year when some of us tomcats get excitable. Did I mention that the birds are chirping? As if that weren’t enough to get us excited, keep in mind we’ve been mostly cooped up indoors the last couple of months because of the cold. Even though we have access to the solarium all year, who wants to sit outdoors in the freezing cold?
We recently celebrated the addition of a new hospital at Tabby’s Place. I hear it is state-of-the-art and beautiful, though I guess it’s probably good news if I never get to see it!
Luckily for me, we don’t yet have a Crime Lab at Tabby’s Place. I have a feeling I would be spending a lot of time there if we did. While conducting the monthly weights-and-nails routine in Suite FIV, our super-sleuth staff noticed suspicious tufts of black fur between my claws. When it was Pyewacket’s turn, they found clumps of black-and-white fur between his toes. Have we been tussling, they asked? “Me?,” I replied indignantly. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Some devious cat must have planted the fur while I was sleeping.”
Thankfully, no witnesses have stepped up. And, being a Brooklyn boy, I’ve been taught to stay quiet and not incriminate myself. Not that I did anything wrong, of course! The further evidence of deep, fresh scratches on my nose proves absolutely nothing.
I hope you’re enjoying the early signs of spring and staying out of trouble :-). Thanks for your continued love and support.
Your friend,
Lester
