Update for Lester

Dear Friends,

My health and my spirits have been good. My favorite part of the day, besides mealtime, is watching the butterflies and listening to the bird songs from the solarium. I love these lazy days of summer. When it’s too hot to lounge in the solarium, you’ll find me napping in a comfy cubby indoors with a soft blanket.

We recently lost sweet Eugene, who succumbed to his cancer. Audrey was promoted to the head honcho’s office, so she and Fontina are roommates again. That means the FIV+ Suite is once again a Tomcat zone. I’m getting too old to fight, so I hope all these dudes can stay calm and get along.

The kind Tabby’s Place staff sat me down and explained that they considered moving me instead of Audrey because I’ve been in the FIV+ Suite the longest, but that would mean I wouldn’t have access to the solarium, which they know I love. I’m so grateful that they know me so well. While the head honcho’s office sounds exotic and new, I don’t want to give up the solarium, where I spent a good part of my days.

There’s been an exciting ruckus going on outside our building. Construction has begun on a new addition, called Quinn’s Corner. It will be dedicated to cats with feline leukemia virus (FeLV), which suppresses a cat’s immune system and is contagious. It will also include a special nursery for neonatal kittens. This addition will allow Tabby’s Place to help even more cats who are in dire situations.

A cat’s-eye view of the new construction

Your generous support is what makes Tabby’s Place possible for cats like me. I’m so happy to have you as my special friend. I’m sending you sweet summer kisses from the bottom of my heart.

XOXO,
Lester
