Cotton from the lobby, enjoying the sleepover with Bree, one of our sanctuary associates

Dear Friends,

It has been a cold, snowy winter here on the east coast. One storm brought enough snow that two lovely staff members spent a Sunday night at Tabby’s Place to ensure all the kitties were safe and got their meds and food in the morning. This was an extra special treat for the lobby cats who got to enjoy a slumber party with the staff! We sent furry goodnight kisses to the staff members from the window of our FIV+ suite, which overlooks the lobby.

Many of you know that in recent years, with a few exceptions, I’ve become a pretty mellow cat—a far cry from my fighting days where I would initiate brawls with my Tabby’s Place roommates with little or no provocation. But I guess Karma is calling and making its rounds. Lately, some of the other FIV+ cats have been picking fights with me for no reason. Wilson, in particular, seems to have it out for me.

Being stalked by Wilson!

If Wilson is indoors when I’m first released from my overnight crate (because of food sensitivities), he stalks me right away. And with this cold weather, he’s often indoors! I’ve never been one to back down from a fight, something that still holds true. But I’m not as young and sprite as I once was, so these fights are a bit unfair if you ask me.

Don’t worry about me, though. I can still hold my own, even against a big bully such as Wilson. That said, I am happy to be spending the night in my own private, spacious crate so I don’t have to deal with him around the clock.

Because of your support, I have this beautiful home at Tabby’s Place where I’m deeply cared for and always protected, no matter what. I’m so deeply grateful for you. Sending you furry Valentine’s kisses and all the love in my heart.

Lots of love,
Lester
