Update for Lester

Dear friends,

Remember how, just last month, some staff members were saying how (relatively) easy I’ve become to medicate? Be careful what you say out loud. I’m pretty sure that once you voice something with conviction, the world will test you.

With a recent bout of diarrhea that required meds, the kind staff had a chance to see if I’m truly reformed. Luckily, I was a good boy. It’s the same medication that’s worked well for me in the past, so we’re all expecting a speedy recovery.

This month brought us Dwayne, a quirky big boy with a grayish-brownish mop of wild fur and a bullfrog-like meow. He’s about five years old, but looks like he’s going on 500. To put it mildly, it seems he’s got a lot of miles on him.

Dwayne has shown no interest in his own kind (not a lover or a hater at this point, just indifferent), but seeks out human attention whenever he can. The current FIV+ residents – myself included – aren’t quite sure what to do about this strange, sweet guy. So, in between my naps, I’m doing what I do best: I’m observing him.

We are all excited – humans and kitties alike – that the Linda Fund Matching Challenge is going strong. All donations made by July 31 will be doubled, and used for emergency and specialty care for our neediest cats, like sweet Riley.

Not a day goes by that I don’t feel lucky for all the support you and all our Tabby’s Place friends provide. You are the reason we’re here, living quality lives, no matter what our backgrounds or health concerns. Thanks for everything you do for us 🙂

Your pal,
Lester
