Dear friends,
Can you believe the holidays are here? You might be wondering, “what does a cat know about the holidays?” I know that the holidays are a special time, when gifts and kind words are exchanged, and many of us – fur or no fur, two legs or four – seem to be caught up in the excitement of the season.
Here’s how I know that the holidays are upon us:
* There’s a Christmas tree in the lobby.
* Adorable Jonathan likes to sit under the tree, doing his best tiny elf impression. (I hope he’s not watering the tree!)
* We are gifted toys that are sparkly or look like candy canes and gingerbread people.
* Visitors speak of Hallmark Movie marathons.
* People buy up Tabby’s Place T-shirts, virtual baskets and 2019 calendars to give as presents.
* Volunteers photograph the cats (myself included) with holiday decorations. I’m told I am an irresistible subject 😊.
The FIV+ Suite gang is ready to celebrate the holidays. Wolfie is back from his ringworm quarantine and wants to party. Shea, who came close to adoption, is grateful to have Tabby’s Place to call home. Each of us is spreading the holiday cheer throughout our suite in our own way – mostly by napping indoors (it’s cold in the solarium!) and reveling in the attention of our visitors.
I am grateful and humbled by the gift you provide me on an ongoing basis. Thank you for all you do. Happy holidays, my dear friends.
XOXO,
Lester
