Update for the Kitten Fund

Kermit & Justin

Hello again, Kitten Fund sponsors!

It’s been a very busy month for the kittens of Tabby’s Place.  We still have new arrivals, though it’s already well into fall, fortunately, we’ve also had plenty of adoptions.  And our Chip or Treat event was a success, with a few kitten and adult cat adoptions made that day!

Kolsch & Ale

Handsome Dougal has returned from foster and is charming everyone he meets, kitten and human alike.  I’m happy to report that the infection in his eyes has cleared up and that no surgical intervention was needed.  His eyes are still cloudy with scar tissue, but he can see just fine and loves to play.

He quickly made friends with his fluffy gray lookalike Mallard who is gradually coming out of his shell and learning to trust people.  We’re hopeful that a room filled with outgoing kittens will help Mallard along.

Andromeda

And a full room it is!  In the Kitten Room with the two gray boys is tiny tiny Kermit, who despite his small size has no trouble keeping up with the larger kittens.  Newcomers Andromeda, Cassiopeia, Perseus, Corvus, and Edmund are also very friendly and keeping things exciting!  And they are joined by two still-technically-kitten returns:  Justin and Daphne, adopted over the summer, are back with us through no fault of their own.  Justin has come to like the other cats and loves cuddling with them no matter their size.

Kermit

Paraplegic kitten Tadpole and her brother Toad remain in foster care, but their mother Froggie has already been adopted!  The kittens have struggled to fight off ringworm and we’re hoping to see them at Tabby’s Place very soon.  New kittens Lydia and Delia are being treated for ringworm as well.

Down the hall in the “Felvie” room, our once terrified beer litter is getting bigger, more curious, and friendlier every day!  The attention of our staff and volunteers has helped Ale, Kolsch, Lager, Gose, and India immensely.  India is still skeptical of being touched but loves to play.  As FeLV is contagious, we aren’t able to mix these five with our other kittens and they must be adopted into homes without other cats.  But we’re hoping that their big personalities and sweet faces will help them find the perfect homes very soon.

Adopted this month:  Oink, Moo, Ween, Meg, Katie, and Costello.  Kermit is currently on hold and going home soon as well!

Dougal

Next week we’ll be holding our annual Thanksgiving with the Cats event.  There will be a silent auction, refreshments, and tours – and Thanksgiving treats you can feed to the cats as well!  We’d love to see you and to introduce you to the recipients of your generous sponsorship.  Please join us if you can!

Until next time!
