Update for June

June’s Journal #34

Happy Passover and Easter to all…and welcome to my latest journal.

Dear sponsors and Tabby’s Place friends, I just don’t know what to say.  This has been a most unusual month as this horrible virus is overtaking our country.  The volunteers are all away and only the staff is here to care for us.  They are doing a wonderful job and we are all safe and sound inside the Sanctuary.  But I miss all of my human friends and all the pets and head rubs and back massages I normally get.

I am in very good health.  I was hoping that a new kitty, Tipsy, and I would become fast friends and curl up together.  But, alas, Tipsy discovered the birds in the windows and now spends time being a window watcher.  While I am very talented at climbing cat trees, I just can’t seem to navigate the windows at all.  So I have to be friends with Tipsy from afar.

The fact that Tipsy prefers bird watching to me has not stopped me from burrowing…I love that big blankie-covered dog bed in the Community Room.  I have also discovered the round heated bed which I also think is pretty neat.  We kitties like to be warm, you know.  And guess what?  Someone put a brand new cardboard box in our space, too.

But when this is all over, you have to come and see me in the round heated bed.  I can dig my front half in with no issues, but I often wind up with my hind end outside of the blankies.  When the staff members come into the Community Room, they see my little feet sticking out from under all those blankies.

I have a new title here at the Sanctuary— I am known as the “Paper Shredder Extraordinaire!”  I don’t like paper, so I shred it every chance I get.  Someone even made a video of me doing my shredding work.  They gave me a 10 for performance.  Since this is not my first video, I consider myself somewhat of a Tabby’s Place star—Yay for me!  See my video June Paper Shredder Extraordinaire!

In all seriousness, I am glad to be safe and sound here at Tabby’s Place.  Despite the shortage of people, we are all being extremely well taken care of.  We still get our medicals done and all of the essentials like nails and weights every month.  And all of us Special Needs kitties would still love a home of our own.

I don’t know when this quarantine period will end, but whenever it does, please come to visit us and me here at Tabby’s Place and consider adopting us.  We are all waiting for our special home with our special people.

Be safe and be well.

Love and kitty hugs and kisses,
June
