Update for Jude

Dear Jude Friend,

Jude had a very good month and was mostly mellow and enjoyed herself. She did have 6 seizures, which is fairly normal for her. A couple of those seizures were quite violent, but I was there with her, holding her tight. She is always very hungry after a seizure, but after one of these seizures, she was ravenous! I couldn’t keep up with her eating. She went through 3 whole cans of food in about 15 minutes! She’s so tiny, I have no idea where she puts it all.  One of Jude’s favorite things to do is eat. She eats more a day than the rest of my cats put together, and this is on a regular eating day. Yet she is still just over 7lbs.

Jude did have quite a few baths this month, as usual. Mostly because she gets her food all over herself. She makes quite a mess and ends up pretty sticky, so off to the bath she goes. She won’t let me help her eat, she is way too independent for that! If I try to guide her a little bit, she gets so mad at me.

Jude has been hanging out with her friend, Warren, again this month. My other paraplegic cat, Kaipo, has also visited her room a few times lately. He just kinda sniffs her and goes on his way. The other day though, while Kaipo was in with Jude, she did her sort of stand up (Photos included. Not the best photos, but I had to show you her standing). Kaipo looked quite confused when she did this, like he was thinking “Whoa  , how did you do that?!” When our little Zuggy stands up it’s kinda like a dance, because she rocks around in place, and it really looks like she’s dancing. At my house when she stands up, we call it the Jude dance.

The Jude dance!

I am fostering a neonatal kitten at the moment, and I keep his carrier in Jude’s rooms, so I can keep an eye on him. Jude really loves the little meows that baby kittens make, and this one is no exception. Whenever he makes his little peep meow, Jude tilts her head back and forth. She always looks so interested in the kittens. It’s very cute to see her listening, and enjoying the little kitten sounds.

With the brutal hot weather we have been having lately, Jude has not been able to have her windows open. She really enjoys a gentle breeze, but it’s just been too hot! She will get her breeze back as soon as we don’t need the air conditioning on all the time.

Jude seems to be doing much better on the CBD. It makes her quite calm and happy. I can pet her so much more than I used to be able to, before CBD, and she actually enjoys it. I think this has been a great thing for our little Jude.

That’s all the Jude news for now. As always, thank you so much for your support of Jude, we couldn’t do it without you.
