Update for Jude

Dear Jude friends,

Jude is doing much better this month and seems to be completely over the issues that happened after her spay. She is back to her usual self, and there seem to be no lasting effects.

Once she was back to “normal,” I started to let her out in the bedroom again for short periods. It took her about another week to be totally herself.

For a few days, she was hissing at Castiel (her paraplegic best friend). Poor Castiel was so confused and didn’t know why his friend was so angry at him. Eventually, the hissing stopped, and Castiel got his friend back.

Jude had one seizure this month, but it stopped right before I gave her the rescue meds. She is still on the higher dose of anti-seizure medication, so hopefully, that will keep things under control for her.

Jude goes into her playpen every night at bedtime. It’s a large playpen, and it has her special, low litterbox, food and water, a big comfy bed, and her favorite toys. Jude really enjoys, and seems to need, her alone time in her playpen.

By bedtime, she starts to get cranky. I think a day of activity, other cats, and two large dogs, gets a little much for her. She loves them all, for a while, but she definitely needs her own space each night. As soon as I put her in her playpen she relaxes, eats, and settles in for the night.

Every morning, she is ready to go again, and zips around her pen, excited to come out and be with her friends again. I guess we all need some alone time to recharge, and Jude is no different.

Jude loves to play, but because she doesn’t see well, she needs toys that make noise. She loves the little crinkly balls; she goes absolutely crazy for them. She needs supervised playtime, though, because she loses her toys very quickly. Every day I dig out about 20 crinkle balls from under the furniture.

That’s all the Jude news for now. Thank you for your continued support of this special girl; we couldn’t do this without you.
