Update for Jude

Dear Jude Friend,

Jude had a good month—she only had 3 seizures. Only one of those seizures required the rescue medication, which stopped the seizure quickly. The other two seizures stopped on their own before I could even grab the rescue meds. Jude’s rescue medication is a shot, so I always have one drawn up and ready to go. During a seizure I am holding her in one place, so she can’t thrash around and hurt herself, so I need the shot ready to go, so I can get it right into her without struggling to hold her, and draw up the shot.

All of Jude’s three seizures were in the middle of the night, which is normal for Jude. She has one during the day on very rare occasions, but it’s usually between 2 AM and 4 AM for some reason.  Her playpen is 2 feet from my bed, and I’m so tuned into her, the second a seizure starts I’m out of bed before I even know I’m awake.  It’s funny, my alarm doesn’t wake me up easily, and I have to set a couple, to make sure I wake up, but Jude starting a seizure (which is much quieter than an alarm) gets me up in one second.

Jude only had one bath this month. She had a day of having some loose stool, and she got some stuck in her fur, so into the tub she went. She does love being clean, she just doesn’t like having to get clean.

Jude had an episode of having a little blood in her stool, so she had to go on medication to help this issue. By the next day, her stool was already back to normal, and there hasn’t been any blood since.

There isn’t anything cuter than Jude when she’s sleeping (see attached picture and I’m sure you will understand what I mean). She is like a little angel baby. She is always cute, but when she’s sleeping she melts my heart.

We have had some nice, warm days for this time of the year, so Jude has been enjoying the warm breeze from the open window. Jude loves a nice warm breeze on her fur.

That’s all the Jude news for now. As always, thank you so much for your support of our little girl.

Your correspondent,
Karina
