Update for Jude

Dear Jude Friend,

Jude had a very good month—she only had 2 seizures the whole month! That is great news for her, and it seems the new medication is really helping her. She seems calmer overall and more content, too. Don’t get me wrong, she is still her cranky self when she doesn’t want to do something, but she is actually allowing more and more pets without having a growling fit.  She did get quite angry at one point though. During one of the seizures, she got some urine on herself (actually she got a LOT of urine on herself), and had to take a bath. She grumbled and complained all the way through the bath. She hates being towel dried, which I must do after a bath, and she yells at me while I am drying her. She sounds like an angry little gremlin!

Jude was playing quite a bit this month too, more than usual. She still loves her crinkle balls and has a lot of fun batting them around the room.  The other day she was playing with a toy mouse, and it was adorable.  She was throwing this mouse up in the air, scooting after it, and then throwing it again.

Castiel has been visiting Jude a few times lately. There is a big, soft cat bed under the spare (human) bed in Jude’s room. Jude never uses this bed, she prefers being out in the open. But when Castiel discovered it he thought it was awesome, and often goes into Jude’s room for a nap. Jude doesn’t mind, as long as he doesn’t bother her, or take her bed.

It is the time of year to open the windows and let the nice fall breeze in. Jude LOVES it when the windows in her room are open. You can literally see her smelling the air and tilting her head back and forth, as she feels the breeze on her fur. She likes that almost as much as she loves laying in a sunbeam, so if both of those things happen at the same time, we have one very happy, and content Jude.

Jude has been healthy this month, and there have been no signs of whatever made her ill a couple of months ago. Whatever that was passed quickly, with no signs of coming back. I am very grateful for this because our little girl has enough to deal with.

The other day, I went into Jude’s room, and she was upside down in bed. It was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. I got a picture of it for you, so you can see what I mean. Serious cuteness, right!?

Jude gets 5 different medications twice a day (one of these medications is three times a day), to keep her healthy. I give her these medications in a pill popper (to make it easier for her, and because she would bite me if it was my fingers). Thank goodness for pill poppers, because she chews on the popper so hard each time she is getting pills (I would have no fingers left). I have to replace her pill popper every 1-2 weeks, because she has chewed it completely out of shape, and it won’t hold the pills anymore.

That’s all the Jude news for now. I cannot thank you enough for your support of Jude.  We just could not care for her properly without you.
