Update for Jude

Dear Jude Friends,

Our little Jude has had a very good month. She played, slept in her favorite comfy bed, and got lots of treats and wet food. That’s all Jude needs from life—just give her these simple things and she’s happy and content.

Jude only had one seizure this month, which is great! Only one seizure in a month is something to celebrate for sure. Maybe next month we can try for no seizures. Other than the one seizure Jude has enjoyed a healthy month.

Every morning, when Jude comes out of her playpen, she does one thing. She circles and circles around the floor, under the bed, out in the open, circle and circle until……. She poops. We call it her turdy works 😁  She will let me express her bladder in the morning, with only a few complaints, but if I try to express her colon she has a complete temper tantrum, so it’s easier to just let her do it herself, then clean up after her. Once she is happy she is all done, she will head over to her comfy bed and snuggle down for a while. Turdy works can make a girl tired.

Everyone wants to be in Jude’s room with her—it seems to be the place to be. Jude, however, does not want many visitors, so I do limit them to short visits, especially Castiel, who bothers Jude after a short while. The one cat Jude likes to visit is Tallulah, and they love to snuggle in the same bed together and take a nap. Tallulah is very gentle and never does anything to bother Jude.  She is just happy to snuggle with Jude, and maybe steal some of her food. Tallulah has a narrowing of her nasal passage, so she has chronic rhinitis, which makes her always sounds very congested. It doesn’t seem to bother Jude at all.  Jude really likes Tallulah.

Jude is preparing for the holidays. She already hung her stocking, and she is hoping Santa Paws will bring her lots of crinkle balls and treats (I think he will 😉)!

The other day Jude was being quite affectionate—for at least 3 minutes! I was rubbing her ears (which she often enjoys), and she was leaning sideways to get more rubs. I thought I heard a purr, but I may be mistaken. She let me pet her for quite some time before she had had enough attention and told me to stop. I will take whatever I can get from Jude, and enjoy it when she is letting me pet her.

Jude loves wet food a lot, and her favorite is Fancy Feast Elegant Medleys. She will eat at least 3 cans of this food a day (I don’t know how she stays so small) and will clean her plate every time. Her favorite time to eat is bedtime because she gets to go into her playpen and a can of her favorite food is waiting for her. She eats all her food, takes a drink, has a couple of treats, then settles in for the night. She looks so peaceful when she sleeps.

That’s all the Jude news for now. As always, we cannot thank you enough for your continued support of Jude, we couldn’t do this without you.
Jude wishes all her friends a wonderful holiday season, and a happy and safe 2021.
