Update for Jude

Dear Jude Friends,

Jude had a very good month. She really seems to love our new home, and she really loves her own room. She seems so much more content since the move and has even been enjoying pets more. Jude has never really enjoyed pets, and she still will only allow a few pets, but I’ll take it! I swear I even heard her purring the other day!! It could have been a low growl though, which is more likely with Jude.

Jude had to have a couple of baths this month. She got poop stuck in her fur, and the only way to clean her was to give her a bath. I thought she would have a complete meltdown at having to take a bath, but amazingly, she was ok. She complained a lot, but just little growls, not the ear-shattering screams I was expecting. I was very proud of her for being such a good girl. She seems to enjoy being towel-dried, but only for about 30 seconds.

I usually try to cut Jude’s claws right after a seizure, because she is very easy to deal with at that time. But her claws were getting long and needed a trim, so I decided to try to trim them anyway. It went really well! She barely complained at all! What is going on with Jude!?!? She just sat there and let me cut each nail with barely a growl. I would never have guessed she would allow that.

Bath Time!

Jude did have two seizures this month, and they were back-to-back. She had the first seizure, and I heard it start and came running. I sat with her until it passed, and she was ready to go back to doing her own thing. Within 10 minutes I heard another seizure start. I ran to her again, and this seizure was bigger than the first one. It didn’t stop quickly, and I had to give her the rescue medicine to help it stop. After the medicine was given the seizure finally stopped. Within a few minutes, Jude was back to normal and was acting as if nothing had happened. These were the only times she had seizures this month, so that’s not too bad.

Jude’s room is still pink! We have had so much to do since moving in, that we haven’t got around to painting her room yet, but it will be done soon. That pink must go! Jude’s playpen was getting old and very worn, so she did get a nice new playpen. She seems to like the new pen, and it’s not pink! It’s blue.

We have a gate up at Jude’s door, to keep the other cats out. However, the kitten in our home, Talulah, can fit through the gate, so she goes to visit Jude quite often. Jude loves her! Talulah often grooms Jude or takes a nap near her. It’s very cute.

That’s all the Jude news for now. As always, thank you so much for everything you do for Jude! We appreciate it so much.
