Update for Jude

Dear Jude friends,

Our little Jude has had a fairly good month. She had a few seizures, but she recovered quickly from them and was back to her old self in no time. She seems to recover much faster from a seizure these days, which seems like good news to me.

For some reason, Jude has been very cranky this month. She doesn’t want to be petted very much and she growls when we try. Once or twice she has allowed an ear rub, but mostly she has been letting us know she wants to be left alone, and when she wants to be left alone she makes herself very clear!

Jude has also been very cranky with Castiel this month, a

nd she hasn’t wanted him near her. This confuses Castiel a lot, and he kept trying, which made her really angry. So I have been putting Castiel out of the bedroom when Jude is in there during the day (she goes into her playpen at night), so he doesn’t keep pestering her to play with him. He doesn’t know how to take NO, and Jude just gets angrier and angrier with him when he keeps trying. Poor Castiel, he just can’t work out why sometimes she will be his friend, and other times she wants nothing to do with him. But when Jude is in this kind of mood it’s better to just let her be alone.

Jude is still eating great! Nothing seems to slow her eating down. I have no idea where she puts it all because she is still so tiny! She is around 6 and a half pounds, and she eats more than my cats who are more than twice her size. Jude can eat a full can of Fancy Feast in no time, then eat some treats, and finally finish up with some of her dry food. She eats 3-4 cans of wet food a day, plus her dry food and treats.

One thing Jude is still well behaved for is her medication.  Thank goodness! She gets 4 different medicines twice a day to control her seizures and help the fluid on her brain. For some reason, she has never minded being pilled twice a day.

The days are quite hot now, so we can’t have the screen porch open as much. We try to open it up in a morning for Jude, so she can enjoy some fresh air before it gets too hot. She immediately scoots over to the porch and smells the air. It is really cute to see her enjoying the fresh air.

That’s all the Jude news for now. As always, thank you so much for your continued support of Jude. We couldn’t do this without your help.
