Update for Jude

Dear Jude friends,

It has been a pretty good month for Jude. She did have one grand mal seizure, and one small seizure, that passed very quickly. During the grand mal seizure, I held her tight until it passed. After the seizure passes, I keep holding her to make sure she’s ok. As soon as she starts growling I know she’s back, and ok again. Jude hates being held, so as soon as she realizes what is going on she yells at me. I love that growl because it means my girl is back. From the end of the seizure, it usually takes her about 5 minutes until she is herself again. I often use that time to do things I know she wouldn’t usually allow me to do, like cutting her claws. She will no way tolerate having her claws cut any other way, and I don’t want to stress her out, so this way she has no idea it has happened.

First thing in the morning I go to Jude’s playpen (which she sleeps in overnight), and give her all her medicines.  Then it’s time for breakfast. After breakfast I express her bladder (she is not good at emptying her bladder herself), then I carry her to the bedroom. It’s only about 5 feet from where her playpen is located, but she still gets angry while being carried. Then she spends the day playing, eating, and sleeping.

Jude has been yelling at Castiel sometimes, and playing or napping with him at other times. The poor guy never knows what mood she will be in from one minute to the next.

I actually got some kisses from Jude the other day! I was petting her ears and head (the only place she likes being touched), and she raised her head to my hand and licked my finger. I was so happy! I will take any affection I can get from her.

Jude always loves her dogs, and never gets cranky with them, which is kind of strange. She is always happy around them and is very happy to lay on the beds with them. One of her dogs, Deisel, had two different kinds of cancer in the last few months. He had radiation for the first cancer, then developed a completely different kind of cancer that required surgery to remove. Jude seems to understand when he doesn’t feel well and is happy to lay near him and offer comfort.

That’s all the Jude news for now. Thank you so much for your support of Jude,  It is appreciated so much.
Stay safe and healthy.
