Update for Jude

Dear Jude friends,

What a crazy time we are all living in. I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

Jude highly recommends social distancing at all times, firstly to keep everyone safe, but also because she doesn’t really like anyone near her.  Nothing has changed in Jude’s world due to COVID-19, unlike the cats at Tabby’s Place.

Due to the stay at home order, we had to stop all volunteers going to Tabby’s Place, and the cats miss them a lot. The cats are still getting all the care they need… medicines, food and water, and their areas cleaned, but with only a few staff members going in, they are not getting the attention they are used to. We are trying to give them as much attention as we can, but it’s hard without our volunteers.
Luckily for Jude, she lives in my home, so this doesn’t affect her at all. although if she was at Tabby’s Place she would probably appreciate the quiet.

It was a much better month for Jude, as she only had one seizure, which is a huge improvement over the prior month. We haven’t adjusted her medicines since she seems to have gone back to normal. It was just a bad month for her last month, for some reason. I’m glad she’s feeling better and doing better.

We have had a few nice days lately, so we have been able to open up the screen door between the bedroom (where Jude hangs out during the day) and the screen porch. Jude really seems to enjoy the fresh air, and sometimes scoots out there to lay in a sunbeam.

When Jude is tired and relaxed and laying in her cat bed, she has been allowing a few gentle pets, without complaint! She likes her head pet and her ears rubbed, but don’t even think about trying to pet down her back! She hates it and will yell loudly at you.

Jude and Castiel are still hanging out sometimes, and they like napping on the dog bed together or playing with toys together. I’m glad she has a friend.

It’s time for Jude to go to bed. When it gets to be around 8 pm she is done with us all and starts getting aggravated. I make her some supper and put her to bed in her playpen. She loves her playpen and feels very safe in there. She also really needs time alone, and she needs quiet, so it’s good for her to have that.

Jude and I will say goodnight, and send a wish for everyone to be safe and healthy. Thank you all for your continued support of Jude. In these uncertain times, it’s more appreciated than you know.
