Update for Jude

Dear Jude friends,

We did it! We had one whole month seizure free! What a wonderful thing to celebrate. I am so happy for little Jude and thrilled with how well our little girl is doing. Jude just continues to get stronger every day and seems fairly content these days.

Well, she’s content as long as no one is touching her or talking to her, or being in her general vicinity. Apart from that, she’s always content. I’m being a little hard on her.  She will actually allow some ear rubs and even seems to like it. When she gets her ears rubbed her head leans over to one side, her eyes close, and it’s the only time she looks content while being touched. She would rather not have any other petting—she gets grumpy if you try, but apparently ears are acceptable.

Jude loves cat beds (she has 3 of them), and I love to see her all snuggled up in a cat bed, fast asleep. She always looks so relaxed and peaceful, and it’s a beautiful sight to see. Once she gets comfy in a cat bed she will be there for several hours, just sleeping, stretching and relaxing. I think cat beds make her feel secure, and there’s no chance she will fall out if she moves.

Another thing Jude loves is a sunbeam, and if she finds one she won’t be moving any time soon. She looks like a little angel laid in a sunbeam.

Jude and Castiel continue to have a much better friendship. They are enjoying hanging out again sometimes, and then they both go their separate ways and have some alone time. This agreement seems to work well for both of them.

One of Jude’s friends keeps her stocked in toys that make noise, which always makes Jude a very happy girl. Jude is still young, and even though she has issues getting around, and really can’t see, she still loves to play. Toys that make noise are perfect for her, because she can track them and find them, and she does! She’s very good at finding her toys, and just like any other young cat, she thoroughly enjoys playing. Her favorite things are still her crinkle balls, and she will bat them around the bedroom for a long time.

Jude’s dog brother, Deisel, was recently diagnosed with cancer and has been going through radiation. Even though Deisel is handling the treatment like a champ, he’s very tired. Jude seems to understand that he isn’t his usual self, and quietly scoots over to him for a while, lays by him, then goes on her way again.

I figure if anyone understands needing a little extra understanding now and then, it’s Jude. I think she is very sensitive to such things, and she really likes the dogs. The dogs are always nice to her, and let her lay quietly by them without any bother. Jude’s dogs are huge (80lbs and 90lbs) so it’s funny to see such a tiny cat laid next to them.

Jude has a new favorite wet food – Fancy Feast Elegant Medleys. She goes crazy for that stuff! So now we have several boxes of it for her. Anything for the princess.

That’s all the Jude news for now. Thank you all for your continued support of Jude. Thanks to your help Jude has all the medicines and care she needs. Here’s hoping for another seizure-free month coming up.
