Update for Boobalah

Hello from Princess Boobalah!

Greetings Boobalah Friends,

I hope the month of May is bringing some warmth and sunshine your way. No matter what the weather is bringing us, know that Boobalah is always warm and toasty as she hangs out in the lobby with all of her buddies.

Boobalah was on patrol the morning I visited her prior to starting my volunteer shift. She checked out all the food dishes to see what nibbles her Lobby friends left from breakfast, and then she strolled over to the front doors to see what was happening outside. What a spring we have had so far in New Jersey! Lots of wind and rain, and that’s what she saw on this particular morning. It didn’t take long for Boobalah to snuggle back into her cozy bed and take a snooze. What a perfect pastime on a less-than-stellar day.

Checking out the rainy weather!

There is a lot going on at Tabby’s Place with the continuing construction of Quinn’s Corner. This can keep Boobalah very busy as she tries to watch all the comings and goings of the construction people and vehicles. These are very exciting times as we get closer and closer to seeing the vision becoming closer to reality.

Boobalah and all of us at Tabby’s Place would love your help in expanding our family—with volunteers!  Last month I mentioned our need for additional volunteers as we prepare for our Quinn’s Corner expansion, which will open later this year. From cleaning to feeding to delivering tender affection, volunteers make a huge impact on our cats’ lives. If you have a heart for cats, we have a role perfectly fit for you at Tabby’s Place.

If you, or anyone in your own “family” of cat lovers, can come aboard, please visit our volunteer page, submit a volunteer application, or contact our Director of Volunteers, Karina Jewitt, at kj@tabbysplace.org. Volunteers must be 12 years or older, and a parent must accompany those under 16 during their volunteer shift. Please share this opportunity with your loved ones! And if you live a bit too far away to join us in person, know that you are still very much “right here” with us through your generosity…and we are so very grateful!

On the medical front, Boobalah had an echocardiogram this month and the report was stable. She also developed a urinary tract infection and is responding well to treatment. She’s had a great deal of variation in her stools, so we have eliminated seafood from the wet food diet in the Lobby.

All in all, she has had a good month, thanks to you and to all of Boobalah’s friends. We are forever grateful for your continued support for Boobalah, and for Tabby’s Place. We could not do this without you!

Have a beautiful month!
