Update for Bacon

Update for Bacon

Hello, fellow Bacon lovers!

March unfortunately finds us sharing some worries about our boy’s behavior. Bacon has been erratic and unpredictable of late.

I admit that, when I visited him last Saturday, he wanted nothing to do with me (which is unusual) and was easily distracted, even seeming annoyed by any attention. He sat by himself in his suite, and I saw no interaction with his roommates, so I can’t say that he was being bothered by another cat.

Usually, Bacon is happy to see me, and we can spend some quality time together, albeit not too much before he becomes somewhat overstimulated. On this visit, I saw a side of him I had not previously witnessed, and I better understood the staff’s comments and observations.

The episode upset me, because I didn’t know exactly what to do. I did not want to upset Bacon or cause any issues in the suite, so I just sat quietly for a while and gently spoke to him. I wanted to at least convey some love, and I can only hope that he absorbed some of it.

I really love this little cat, and I hope, in time, that we can all get to the bottom of Bacon’s issues and perhaps offer a medication, or some behavior modification, to help him live his best life. Of course, the good part in this is that he is at Tabby’s Place, where he is assured of receiving not only the best possible diagnosis and care, but all the love he needs. This is possible because of you, and I cannot thank you enough for your interest and support!

Hopefully, in April, we will have some good news to share. Until then, I hope you are looking forward with me to the beginning of Spring, when nature is made new and our world once again begins to blossom!
