Greetings, Dear Sponsors of Bacon!

Welcome to December and the holiday season. I’m not quite sure where 2021 has gone, but here we are at the end of the year!

Overall, November has been a fairly quiet month medically. Bacon has had a few occasional seizures from time to time, but his condition continues to be stable. Bacon has been doing much better with eating his medications in his foods now that we have figured out his favorite flavors, which is much relief to the staff members! Bacon loves Savory Centers and is happy to chow down.

The biggest news in Bacon’s world is that he has gained a new roommate: Marcia!

With our growing number of diabetics due to some recent additions, Fenek said adios to the Office and hello to the employee/volunteer lounge! Fenek is fairly pleased with the arrangement, as he now has plenty of people to snuggle with! Our diabetic squad is now six felines strong and Fenek seems to be fitting right in. Bacon is fine with the change as well. Although he and Marcia have yet to meet, we are hopeful that they will coexist peacefully just as Fenek and Bacon did.

Marcia has been a bit of a difficult case for all the staff at Tabby’s Place due to her behavioral needs. Marcia struggles with changes in her environment and easily becomes overstimulated. She needed a small, quieter environment than a suite could offer. Luckily, a spot opened up for our dear Marcia! Marcia was none too happy about the move at first (as she was previously hanging out in our feral room), but she is beginning to adjust now that she’s had some time. And with all her quirks, she fits right in with our wonderful little misfit, Bacon.
