Update for Bacon

Dearest Sponsors,

Spring has sprung! The weather has been gorgeous and it’s been an incredible joy to step outside not bundled up in several layers. I hope we see less cold days and more flowers starting to bloom.

All has been relatively quiet at Tabby’s Place, much the same as it’s been for months. Bacon’s adventures in food and finding the perfect wet food to put his medications in continues. However, this month he’s begun branching out to different flavors. Savory Centers remain his favorite, but he’s recently started eating Gravy Lovers. We continue to try to offer choices as we never want to be restricted to only one option because if he stops eating it, we’re in a pretty tough spot!

Now that we have Bacon consistently getting his medications, he’s shown a softer side. Well, a softer side on Bacon’s scale of sweetness! He’s been allowing people to give him a few select head pets.  Everyone is very happy to give little guy head pets! Bacon did have one observed seizure early in the month, and he’s due for his medication levels to be checked, which will be done soon.

Overall Bacon has been doing well. Getting pictures this month was a bit of an adventure which I thought I’d share. Just a short story, maybe worth a smile. I’m sure you’re not the least bit surprised our wonderful Bacon doesn’t cooperate with most things.

While cats seem to have an innate knowledge we want to take photos of them and turn their heads away, Bacon prefers to turn his entire body away. I was determined to get some photos though, so my plan was perhaps a bit silly but successful. I carefully placed a trail of treats from his head, around his body, and out of his crate.

I waited…and waited…and waited…you get the picture. Finally it paid off. Bacon slowly sniffed the treats and began turning his body around. As he sniffed around for more, he came out of his crate and I got some photos. They aren’t the best works of art, but I think the story is the best part!

Thank you, as always, for your loyal support of our adorable boy!  I hope you are having a wonderful time, enjoying the beginning of spring, and staying safe!
