Hello, fellow Bacon Buddies!
I was extremely honored to be asked to be Bacon’s new correspondent, so hello to all of his many admirers and supporters!
When I first learned about Bacon, I admit I was intrigued. As you know, he has quite a health history with issues somewhat of a mystery. I had always looked forward to meeting him but did not have the opportunity until this past Saturday, when I made the extra effort to seek him out, to become acquainted with him and be the best correspondent for him that I can be.
Bacon was in the “feral room” this week, because his suite is being renovated (new cubbies are being installed for all the cats in all the rooms, and they are really nice!). The feral room is quite small, and when I went to visit, Bacon was running around like a little hyperactive child. He was not too interested in me, until I gave him a special catnip toy – that, he liked! However, his roommate Riley was a bit jealous and tried to steal the toy, so Riley was given one of his own to calm him down and give Bacon some peace. I tried to pet our boy but he was quite skittish around me. This didn’t surprise me, knowing his behavior, and I did not want to crowd him or make him nervous, so I stayed in the background and observed him for some time. He is really cute! Such a handsome cat, a bit smaller than I had expected, but nonetheless quite attractive with a beautiful face and soulful eyes.
Bacon is scheduled to be moved to Adoption Room 3 – a cozy room with more elderly and gentle cats (one of my favorite rooms at Tabby’s Place). I hope this placement will help him to calm down a little and maybe make a few friends among the more mellow felines. And hopefully we will get to the bottom of his health issues. Regardless, we will all love him just as he his – a beautiful and special cat!
I am grateful for all of you who join me in loving Bacon (the cat, that is!), wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, and look forward to updating you next month as Bacon and I get better acquainted.
