Update for Bacon

Dearest Sponsors,

Last month brought us good news in the world of Bacon and it continues into July! It’s been a long battle with Bacon’s selective appetite, but we’ve been slowly making progress. Bacon has gone from enjoying a certain food for a day to enjoying it for a week (or longer!). He doesn’t seem to have a pattern with flavors, which is a bit frustrating.

Recently, one of his switches was from ham baby food to beef pate. We really try a variety of options until something “sticks.” Perhaps in the future, there will be a clear pattern in his food preferences, but for now, it’s a huge relief to see Bacon clean out his wet food tray (and the medication that’s mixed in).

As you might recall, Bacon’s new roommate has been somewhat of a curiosity. They’re a bit of an odd pair. While they’re never out together, you’ll be able to occasionally see them sitting near each other’s crates.

Bacon is not looking to make a friend. He wanders too close to Fenek’s crate and proceeds to get upset. Fenek is, of course, right beside him. Makes perfect sense in Bacon’s mind! Fenek on the other hand continues to be quite curious about Bacon’s crate… including if it’s opened in the slightest, with grumbling Bacon inside! There have thankfully been no “encounters,” but everyone has to be sure to put Fenek away before opening Bacon’s crate!

These last couple of updates have been short. While the world around us currently is filled with so many stories to tell, Bacon’s tiny little bubble of the world is fairly calm, stable, and positive. I hope one day we can all see that same stability in our world.

Wishing you all the best in this trying time. Thank you for your unwavering support of Bacon and Tabby’s Place.

Your correspondent,
Rebecca
