Dear Supporters of Bacon,
I hope you’re having a lovely December.
When I visited Bacon the other day, he was quite mellow, almost fast asleep in his oversized, comfy bed. I was there later than I usually visit. This gave me an opportunity to talk to one of the staff members who keeps an eye on Bacon and knows all the scoops.
I was anxious and curious. But the news was promising: Bacon is, indeed, doing well. Better than expected? Less seizures? He’s eating. I pressed her for some insight—is he really okay?

The answer was a resounding “yes!” We know he’s a sensitive guy. We know he does better when he is not overstimulated. That means that he’s better off on his own, and anyone who comes into contact with him has to be careful not to do too much.
I love to pet him. He seems to like it. Is that too much?
“He’ll let you know,” she said. “He pretends to nip. He definitely will react if you go too far.” Or make a face.

And, of course, that makes sense.
Recently, Bacon has been on a steady diet of cannabis oil, which has been helpful in keeping him calm. He is eating well. And, of course, he loves his snacks. If I shake a treat bag filled with his special dietary treats, his ears perk up.
“Snack? Does anyone want a snack in here?”
He trots over, leaves his house, or rouses himself from a catnap to find the treat bag. Never fails.
What is this about cats and food? Sometimes it takes Bacon quite a while to inhale that treat.

And, I have more good news. Lisa, the lovely staff member who provides me with Bacon’s veterinary updates, shared that Bacon is having a good month medically. She writes that he’s been in “good health and spirits.”
So, I’ve calmed down and am grateful that Bacon is getting such wonderful care — thanks to you. He loves his digs, his large comfy bed, and his peaceful life.

Thanks, as always, from Bacon and me for your continued generosity! Bacon and all of our cats thrive because of your commitment to the cats here at Tabby’s Place. Bacon and I wish you the best holiday season!
