Update for Arlo

Shy. Timid. Hesitant around people. That’s some other cat, but it isn’t Arlo. He’s a happy extrovert who loves people. Usually, that applies even if he’s never seen you before, making him all the more remarkable among our felines, many of whom are nervous around us for long periods of time. Arlo is a truly handsome boy, with deep orange tabby markings, a white ’bib’ in front, and white ’socks’ on his hind legs (his front paws have just a bit of white on them). He likes to spend time in the solarium of his suite almost as much as he likes a good scratch on the side of the neck. Even in the summer heat when you’d think any self-respecting cat would be chilling out indoors in air-conditioned comfort, you’ll often find Arlo in the solarium, lying full-length on the relatively cool floor or napping on a towel placed on top of a crate. He’s definitely something of a ’talker’, as well, especially when the humans haven’t been paying sufficient attention to him (that’s most of the time, in his opinion).

We know Arlo lived with another cat before he came to us, but to date he seems not to have bonded with any of his suite-mates. Initially, he was hissing at the other residents in his suite, but that’s lessened a good deal over time, as we had hoped would be the case; he was probably just unsettled by his new environment. With his sparkling personality and his good looks, I consider Arlo highly adoptable. Although his being FIV+ certainly lowers his chances for adoption, he’ll have a good home at Tabby’s Place for as long as he needs it, thanks in large part to the generosity of sponsors like you.
