Hello, dear Friends of Anka!
My name is Kim, and I’m a longtime volunteer at Tabby’s Place. I’m happy to cover for Anka’s regular correspondent, Mary, who will return to you next month.

Anka is a favorite of mine. OK, he is very much a favorite of mine.
As you know, he loves to stroll in his carriage. I take Anka out whenever I’m here, and we enjoy our time together. Our boy is ready to ride whenever anyone can “drive” him.
We are his wheels, you see. I think of the wheels of the carriage as an extension of the legs he can’t move himself. The moment we step outside, he’s totally mesmerized.
During my last visit, I walked up to Anka’s suite pushing a stroller. He took one look at me and spun around, pulling himself towards the door. He is ready at a moment’s notice to ride and recognizes each one of us who takes him on his journeys.
But one day, he seemed a bit off. I was later to find out that the staff had discovered a small lump at the base of Anka’s tail. Our veterinary team examined Anka and scheduled removal and biopsy of this growth. It is likely nothing to worry about, but keep good thoughts for an uneventful diagnosis.
Since then, he has seemed ready to resume his daily strolls. His volunteer friend Kevin, who walks Anka often, stopped by to visit but was unable to stroll because of the rainy weather.

Anka does not understand this, so he decided to throw his own celebration. That night, he had a one-cat “me party” in his room. He got into the recycling bin and spread confetti all over.
As you know, Anka’s room is the office of our Volunteer Team. Anka seemed quite content with himself when his celebratory mess was found the next morning!
Thank you for your love and generosity to Anka. If you should have a chance to visit him this summer, Anka would enjoy the pleasure of your company and is a lovely host.
He wishes you the most pleasant summer and is thankful for your love and support.
Your Correspondent,
Kim
