Update for Anka

Dear Friends,

It’s the height of stroller season! And that means I get to be outside more often. I hope someday you can visit and enjoy a stroller ride with me. I’m a very good listener, so you can share your stories or tell me whatever is on your mind.

I like to take charge of the Volunteer office when my colleagues are busy

My good friend continues to visit me and bribe me with treats so she can brush the mats out of my fur. She even got my correspondent to join this scheme. Now, I like these two humans, but I don’t appreciate them teaming up on me. And while I enjoy smooth locks following these brushing sessions, I only barely tolerate this behavior for the lickable treats.

When they recently teamed up – one to brush and feed me treats and the other to videotape this spectacle for you – I decided to be on good behavior. I didn’t want them to keep showing you how cranky I can be, so I took my treat and brushing like a champ and without a growl or swat. You can see my good behavior in the videos below (okay, I lost it and growled in one, but that’s pretty good for me!).

I hope you are proud of me. I really am a good boy most of the time. But I’m also used to calling the shots—first on the streets of my native Turkey, and now here at Tabby’s Place, where I consider myself the Big Cheese.

The remnants of a brushing session. I think we should name the furry wad “Anka Jr.”

We recently held a volunteer appreciation event where we got to fuss over the wonderful people who devote their time to Tabby’s Place and all its kitties. We also invited the public to come and learn more about volunteering here. I got to meet some very nice people. I hope they sign up to volunteer so I can spend more time getting to know them and we can become friends.

Speaking of friends, you are my favorite. I hope you know how much I love and appreciate you and all you do for me. Thank you for being such an important part of my life.

All my love,
Anka
