Update for Anka

Hello, Dearest Sponsors!

I have been asked to put “pen to paw” this month and share my own news. My April Cat Correspondent Kim said, “go for it!”  So here we go!

First, I am back on Miralax for firm stools. Flatulence also seems to be a problem for me lately, so the staff is working to find just the right dosage to make me most comfortable. It has been suggested that my fan club may have been a bit too generous with treats lately.  While I say “bring them on,” our staff is monitoring my intake of treats just in case they could be contributing to either issue.

Speaking of treats, what a treat it has been for me that Stroller Season 2024 has started! I look forward to my time outdoors, when I can get some fresh air, watch the birds and butterflies, and visit personally with the (human) stroller team. I can see Kim (Stoller Team Leader as well as my correspondent this month) coming with that stroller to my suite long before she can see me. I slide up to my door, and get so excited that she can barely get into my room! Side to side I go in front of my glass door, as she tries to maneuver the stroller inside without running over my tail! Once secured in the stroller, I am the best boy ever as we head out on our journey.

However, the days have been rainy as of late, and although Kim tries to give me nice walks indoors, I do not really understand why I cannot go out. Kim keeps singing “Rain, rain go away, come back again another day,” but it does not seem to help things. Thinking a stroller partner would help the other day, we went and picked up Grecca from the lobby and placed her into a second stroller. I got antsy when I realized we may never make it outdoors at all this past week, and that I may have to be content watching the birds at the window feeders at the entrance to Quinn’s Corner. I know Kim was trying, but when she put on my favorite music and tried to make peace with the weather, I turned my back to her, Grecca, and indoor bird-watching and was ready to go back to my suite.

Now, getting me INTO the stroller is easy, because I always want to go. But getting me OUT of the stroller is another thing. You see, I never want to get out. If the weather has not been favorable and it is time to alight from the stroller, somehow, I still remain hopeful that it will change. I sit with determination; sometimes, it is necessary to get a staff person to lift me out. Our wonderful staff is so patient with me, and once a staff person shows up, I have to admit defeat. The ride is over for that day.

I hope that on a beautiful spring afternoon, you will make an appointment to visit me here at the beautiful sanctuary I call “home.” Who knows? Maybe you can join me out on the grounds of Tabby’s Place, as I ride in comfort and companionship.

I may surprise you with my choice of musical selections; I will keep that a secret until I see you in person!

Thank you for your most generous gifts that allow me to live and enjoy a life full of special graces. I remain eternally grateful.

Love,
Anka
