Update for Anka

Dear Friends,

Happy Spring from your favorite explorer!

It’s hard to believe that just a few weeks ago, we had another big storm here in New Jersey. This resulted in a second slumber party with some special Tabby’s Place staff members, who stayed over to make sure all the cats were taken care of.

Having some of our favorite people here all night again was amazing! There were lots of extra cuddles, soft blankets, and quiet time together while the snow fell outside. I got to sleep next to my person again and had many sweet dreams.

Another highlight was our special Paws to Read event to celebrate Read Across America Day. Lots of very kind kids visited and spent time reading stories to us. I loved listening to their voices. It turns out books make excellent background music for a good catnap.

This is what happens after a long winter

Last month started with a note for the Tabby’s Place staff to ‘monitor my appetite and stool.’ I’m happy to report that both have improved over the last couple of weeks. I’ve had a few days when I was Cranky Pants again. While some days my sensitive tummy is to blame, other days I’m just antsy and on edge.

I pine for these days …

If I could write my own personal note to staff, I’d tell them: “More stroller rides, please!” Like my human friends, I get fed up with winter, too. The fix for that is more frequent stroller enrichment. 😊

With the snow finally melting and warmer days ahead, I look forward to more stroller rides, time in my outdoor pen, and fresh air.

As the flowers start to bloom, I’ll be thinking of you while I soak up some sunshine. Thank you for being my sponsor, my brightest sunshine, and my very best friend.

Lots of love,

Anka
