Oh, boy…Ana and Natasha are back in the Special Needs Suite, and that means one thing: Ana and Hootz are together again!
Fortunately, after some scary growling and posturing by Ana in her first few days back in the Special Needs Suite, the two seem to be tolerating each other much better than the last time around.
Soon, the girls will likely also be joined by Beatrice, a lovable (but not cat-loving) tortie with IBD. Beatrice lived at Tabby’s Place for about two years before being adopted six months ago. Sadly, she was returned when she would not stop attacking her person’s other elderly cat.
In medical news, Ana continues to gulp quite frequently (a sign that her IBD is bothering her). We’re starting Ana on Nexium, which isn’t often used on cats. We’re tinkering a bit here (not in any way that puts Ana at risk, of course). Since at this point there’s little we haven’t attempted on Ana’s behalf, and her symptoms have continued to bother her, it seems worth a trial.
Ana seems to be OK back in the Special Needs Suite. I’m sure she misses the comfy sofa, but there are towels, cushions and cat beds all over in the new home. She actually seemed to like lounging in a large open crate when I was there to take photos last week. Her purr was still up to world class standard, and she was happy to get some attention.
There didn’t seem to be any special problems between Hootz and Ana on my visit. We can only hope for the same with Beatrice, since neither Ana or Beatrice particularly likes other cats.
Thank you for your continued kindness to our little tabby girl. Have a wonderful September.
