Update for Anastasia

Greetings Anastasia Enthusiasts,

What is Ana’s favorite winter sport? Snuggling up with her best buds! As you can see from the picture (at right), Ana, Desi, Star and Venice have been found cozying up with each other quite often.

The fabulous foursome may have gotten closer due to their new roommates. Just as they were getting used to hyper-Hootz, two new kitties (Skittles & Drizzle) moved in!

My first experience with Skittles was quite the surprise. I had been in Ana’s suite for about 45 minutes, just petting and talking to her and Desi. Suddently, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a movement in one of the dark cubes. As I looked in, I saw a big, beautiful dark tabby cat that was unfamiliar to me. As I patiently waited, the new cat (Skittles, pictured below) gave me a few sniffs and decided to emerge from her hiding place. It was worth the wait – she snuggled right up in my lap and was such a love!

Skittles and Anastasia have the same affliction: Inflammatory Bowel Disease. The pair not only have similar health ailments, they also look like sisters with their medium tabby fur. Though they haven’t been caught cuddling yet, Ana has shown no ill-will towards the newbie.

Also new to the Special needs suite is Drizzle. I’ve been trying to think of where she got her name for the past few days, but to no avail. Although, her eyes remind me of how I feel when it starts to drizzle in the middle of an otherwise beautiful day.

Drizzle, like Desi, has stomatitis – perhaps there is something about their malady that leads to big, emotional eyes?

If you get a chance during the holiday season, you might want to come in and check up on the special needs residents. Maybe by the year’s end all 7 kitties will be snuggling together!

Happy Holidays,

Liz
