Dear Sponsors,
I’m very sorry to tell you that we’ve lost Mr. Man.
As you know, this was not a shock, though we are all still devastated. Recent blood work indicated that the feline leukemia virus had gotten into his bone marrow, and he’s been slowing down for a couple of weeks now.
Yet even these quiet days have had their joys. Mr. Man was still eating, and he’d venture into the sunny Quinn’s Corner lobby on the days when it was his suite’s turn. Most touchingly, he continued to buddy up to Hoopla Green.
But on Monday morning, we saw a marked change in Mr. Man. His posture was hunched, he was breathing too rapidly, and he was obviously uncomfortable. He was weak and tired, and we had to make the decision we were all dreading.
This never gets any easier, and we will all miss our gentle giant terribly. Thank you for giving him a life of sweetness and comfort at Tabby’s Place. He has basked in the love of cats and people alike. Be assured that we’ll be comforting Hoopla in all the ways she will permit.
Although we wish Mr. Man could have been with us for many happy years, you made it possible for him to know centuries worth of love in a short time. Thank you for being his family.
With sorrow and gratitude, your correspondent,
Stephanie
