Special Update for the FeLV+ Fund

Dear Sponsors,

I have some bad news: We’ve lost Pisa.
We found out just last week that she was in kidney failure and had swelling behind her right eye, which turned out to be an abscess.
We started our gentle girl on fluids, steroids, antibiotics, and pain relief immediately. But just a day or two later, she was too quiet and not eating, and by the day’s end she was declining quickly. We knew “goodbye” was the most loving and merciful choice.
I’m sure you are as shocked and grieved as we are. But, we have learned that cats are astoundingly skilled at hiding illness.
We are grateful, at least, that Pisa spent the last year of her life at Tabby’s Place, delighting in a haven where she was safe, warm, well-fed, and greatly loved.
You, dear sponsors, were an instrumental part of that, and you will forever be Pisa’s family. Thank you for being there for our beautiful calico when she needed you.
Your correspondent,
Stephanie
