Special Update for the FeLV Fund

Special Update for the FeLV Fund

Kitty Purry

Hello, FeLVie fans.

This is another special update.

Kitty Purry and her brother Leonardo DiCatrio are currently battling FIP (feline infectious peritonitis).

FIP is a serious viral disease, caused by a mutation of the coronavirus, and it primarily affects young cats.

Just a few years ago, FIP was fatal, but fortunately, there are effective medications for it now. We have had excellent success in treating FIP at Tabby’s Place, with cats like Gator, Juel, Nelson, and many, many others going on to enjoy a full recovery.

Since Kitty and Leo are immune-suppressed, they face a harder battle than cats uninfected with FeLV. Yet we remain hopeful that both of them will conquer the disease.

Leonardo DiCatrio

Our little siblings are currently in our hospital, but they should not have to remain there during their entire course of treatment, which runs for twelve weeks.

Please keep a good thought for our charming brother-and-sister pair, and know that your generosity is providing the care they need to heal. We are honored to deliver your love to them each day. How immensely fortunate they are to have you in their family.

Your correspondent,
Stephanie

PS: Kitty and Leo will also be featured on our Tabby’s Place blog tomorrow morning (this link will be live after 8 am on 8/6). But, as their sponsor family, we wanted you to hear the news first.
