Special Update for Moo Moo

Special Update for Moo Moo

Dear Sponsors,

What follows is Moo Moo’s regularly scheduled September update, which was written by her beloved Nancy before Moo Moo’s medical scare unfolded this month. We’re grateful to be able to send this update, as Moo Moo is doing magnificently!

Thanks to you, Moo Moo continues to receive stellar medical care. Yesterday, a cardiac ultrasound confirmed that her heart disease (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, or HCM) has improved. We’ll be increasing her diuretic, as it’s clearly working without causing any complications. (Treating heart disease can sometimes cause stress on a cat’s kidneys, but Moo Moo is tolerating her medications well.) There was a small amount of fluid in her chest, but overall our vet team is delighted with her progress.

Speaking of “delighted,” Moo Moo is relishing her return to the lobby, with all the affection that entails! We can’t thank you enough for making this possible. And now, for your regular update from dear Nancy …

All in a day’s work.

Happy September, Team Moo Moo!

With fall coming, change is in the air. I find myself experimenting with different napping spots to see which are the coziest for the cooler days ahead. I definitely prefer the elevated spots, which give me a better chance of an uninterrupted nap. The lobby young’ins are adorable, but I don’t want to be pounced on while I’m trying to get my beauty sleep.

I’ve also increased my floor explorations. It’s both an exercise program and a way to forage for unfinished food. I’m a natural at multi-tasking, and a fan of cutting down on food waste.

The staff were all very gracious about my cat burglary incident last month. Although my accomplice Peabody and I became instant legends by pulling off the “Great 2025 Closet Caper,” knocking things over and scattering the large bag of kibble wasn’t part of the plan.

I remain pleased with myself for figuring out how to get into that closet, but I do feel bad about making clean-up work for the humans who love me.

The least I can do to make up for the mess, is to work even harder at my job as Medications Dispensing Assistant. I’ve added a new responsibility to my work day. In addition to covering the binder and paperwork, I also rearrange pens now, and move some of them to the floor.

Something out of this world happened last month. My longtime fellow Tabby’s Place resident Pepita found her forever foster home! It’s a dream come true.

Prescott’s favorite window seat.

It wasn’t a surprise to me that Pepita’s stars aligned to lead her to a forever home, because there have been a lot of interesting astronomical events happening lately.

A rare alignment of five planets, known as the “Planet Parade,” occurred on August 18th. Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune lined up in the sky. Pepita was adopted on August 18th. What a coincidence. Or maybe not.

I felt intrigued by this. So, in my continuing quest to become a more cultured cat and to find beauty in the world around me, I decided that my intellectual exploration would be the cosmos this month. After all, cats have a unique relationship with the universe. More about that later.

Did you see the Aurigids and Perseids meteor showers? They were spectacular. All the cats here love to look through the windows and skylights when there are cosmic events like this. I wish we could chase those streaks in the night sky.

Bing and Rori going transcendental at Tabby’s Place.

There was a blood moon last month, too. We couldn’t see the total lunar eclipse in our part of the world, but we should have been able to see the moon turn a beautiful color … except that it rained. That was a shame, because I told new lobby kitten, Corduroy, that the moon was going to be orange like his fur, in celebration of his arrival. Kittens are pretty gullible, LOL.

Now, here’s something you may not know. Cats are high-dimensional beings. Yep. We possess awareness and abilities that are unique. We are the most spiritual creatures on the planet. This comes with great responsibility.

Have you ever wondered why we silently watch you, want to be involved in everything you do, and follow you everywhere? In addition to loving you (and generally being nosy), we are the eyes and ears of higher powers in the universe. Our job is to watch, and share what we learn.

For the record, why we watch you in the bathroom will remain one of life’s great mysteries, along with how the Pyramids were built. Maybe cats figuring prominently in ancient Egyptian art and a Sphinx located next to the Great Pyramid could be hints that maybe cats were involved? Just saying.

Every cat has their own way of going transcendental and transmitting their experiences with humans to the great beyond. It doesn’t really matter how we do it, as long as we do it. It’s vital information for monitoring humanity.

Famous science fiction writer Robert A. Heinlein must have been given this important information from a cat. He had two famous quotes that are very true.

In The Door Into Summer,” he said, “If you would know a man, observe how he treats a cat.”

In “To Sail Beyond The Sunset,” he said, “How you behave toward cats here below determines your status in heaven.”

Nailed it, Robert A. Heinlein, wherever you are.

Doesn’t fly, but I give it 5 stars for comfort.

This guy was a really good author, but one of his books scared me! In 1951 he wrote “The Puppet Masters.” In his story, slug-like aliens invade Earth. They arrive in flying saucers and proceed to take control of humans by attaching themselves to their nervous systems.

This is frightening on multiple levels. If my beloved humans were mind controlled, maybe they wouldn’t know me and take care of me anymore. And … slugs are attracted to cat food! I had a bad dream that the slug aliens came to Tabby’s Place one night and ate all our food and treats.

Just reading the synopsis gave me a nightmare. I have no intention of reading this book. I think, if there was to be such an invasion, cats could hunt and catch the slug creatures, but they’re not a preferred food choice. Turtles would have to save Earth.

I did find the flying saucer idea very interesting. I found a big white saucer in the lobby. It had a nice blanket in it. I climbed in and waited for it to fly, but nothing happened. It must need repair. Meanwhile, I’ll enjoy napping in it.

Cats understand that our mission is to be loving companions to our persons, and provide healing energy to them through our presence and the vibrations of our purring. We also have the ability to heal negative energy in the world.

Ready to add space travel to my accomplishments.

I try my very best to send as much healing energy as I can. As you know, I’m a very busy girl. I wouldn’t mind adding space exploration to my list of accomplishments. But no matter how busy I am, fulfilling my higher purpose will always be my top priority.

I think there need to be more cats on Earth. Like a cat for every family, everywhere. It’s a huge responsibility to do what we do. There’s so much negative energy in the world. We are only small beings. No wonder we need to sleep so much!

Thank you, dear sponsor, for what you do to help me stay healthy and happy. Helping a cat like me, from a hopeless situation, makes you a special light in the world. Maybe you’re even helping to save the world.

Love,
Moo Moo

P.S. I had a close encounter with a UFO this month. You can see the video below. I had no idea what this thing was. I tried to engage it, but it failed to respond. It remains an unidentified fluffy object.
