Trey

Trey

If the Tabby’s Place cats had a high school yearbook, Trey would be on every page. From “Softest Fur” to “Sweetest Face” and even “Most Popular,” Trey’s got the complete package.

The only category Trey may have missed is “Most Likely to Succeed with an Adopter.” Alas, our tabby boy has been repeatedly adopted and returned, and always for the same reason: inappropriate elimination. In fact, before coming to Tabby’s Place, a crowded shelter almost euthanized Trey for his “crime” after he’d been returned one time too many.

Fortunately, Trey came to Tabby’s Place instead, and promptly proceeded to make every single person -and nearly every cat – fall in love with his sweet, easygoing ways. You’d be hard pressed to find a gentler and more loving soul than handsome Trey. Reach out to pet this sweetie, and you’ll be rewarded with a touch of the silkiest brown-tabby fur you’ve ever found – not to mention one magnificent purr.

So what about those bad bathroom habits? While we’re saddened that any cat has to have a chronic condition, we were delighted to find that the cause of Trey’s troubles is entirely treatable. Trey has feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD), which causes crystals in his urine, and can contribute to inappropriate elimination. Stress and certain foods can aggravate the condition, making urination uncomfortable for Trey, such that he “goes” wherever he happens to be at the time. Getting into the wrong foods, or living in a chaotic environment, can spell disaster for our sweetie-pie. But, thanks to a prescription diet and a peaceful, predictable life with three friendly roomies in a small suite, Trey has largely reformed his ways.

And, to put it mildly, he is one happy fellow here at Tabby’s Place. Any and every visitor to Trey’s cozy suite is greeted with the golden eyes and hopeful, upturned face of a cat who wants to be your newest best friend. Trey’s love isn’t restricted to the human kind, either; equally at home in a warm lap or snuggled up with feline buddy Angelo, Trey has a heart wide open to everyone he meets.

While we hope that a patient person will fall in love with our Trey, we know that his history of “repeat offenses” makes this less than likely. Trey will always be a winner in our book, and we love loving him at Tabby’s Place. Please give Trey your love, too, and help to give him all the tender care he needs as his newest sponsor.
