Penelope

Meet Penelope, a black-and-white charmer. She’s of medium size, with big green eyes and white whiskers; I especially like her black tail and the funny patch of black off-center on her chin. Penelope had some trouble settling in to her suite (and no wonder, with all of those rambunctious boys around!). Now, she’s a sweet, affectionate girl, and she likes being around people. As might be expected from this description, she’s still somewhat nervous around the other cats, and will hiss or swat them if they come too close. We’re certain she’d do best in a quieter environment, and for this reason she cannot go to a home with young children.

Update: We have recently discovered that Penelope has stomatitis, an auto-immunal disorder of the mouth that can cause ulcerative sores. While this can sometimes be held in check by a change in diet, it’s too soon yet for us to know if that will work in Penelope’s case.

Because Penelope is FIV+, she’s one of our Special Needs cats. We understand it will take someone extra-special to adopt Penelope, but once you see how cute she is, you may want to take her home on the spot! If you cannot take our girl home but would like to help us care for her, please consider a sponsorship.
