Mango

Mango

“He may be the sweetest cat at Tabby’s Place. But…”

So begins the let-down when a potential adopter first meets Mango.

The scene repeats on an almost-weekly basis. Someone comes to Tabby’s Place looking to adopt a cat. The moment she strolls into Suite C, she’s greeted by a distinctive voice: “Meow. Oow. Mow. Mooww!” The conversation has begun. Bright-orange Mango will jabber at her the entire time she’s there – and it’s a matter of moments before she’s lost her heart.

That’s when two hearts – the adopter’s and Mango’s – inevitably break.

Again.Between his snuggly ways, his golden good looks and his zest for life, our charming chatterbox may be the sweetest, sunniest cat at Tabby’s Place. Meeting Mango is sweeter than the tropical treat for which he’s named, and he’s equally delighted to meet you.

But, his refusal to use the litter box has proven the “kiss of death” for potential adopters. The best veterinarians can find no medical reason for Mango’s behavior. We have worked with a feline behavioral specialist to try every intervention imaginable, all to no avail. Mango just won’t use the litter box.

Mango first came to Tabby’s Place from a public shelter all the way in Arizona. Until the arrival of the Okinawa cats, he held the distinction of having traveled the farthest distance. Our orange sweetheart would gladly travel vast distances to have his own human to adore – but we understand that, given his one bad habit, that adopter may not come along.

Thank you for sponsoring Mango and nurturing him with the love and affection he craves and deserves. We love having him at Tabby’s Place, and he would love to have you in his life.
